New release (v0.8.8rc7)

This should be the final release candidate for 0.8.8. The visible changes
are:
* output.cc supports 1025 shades of gray (which seems to be the maximum
  number supported by eepic.sty)
* Jay Belanger's emacs mode puts the required namespace declarations in
  files that have extension ".epx", and his texinfo file (epix.texi) is
  included
* A bug in elaps that caused file.epx to compile to file.epx.eps is fixed

I'm starting to think "epx" is not an ideal file extension: It's similar
to "eps", both when using tab completion and in terms of keystrokes on an
American keyboard. Alternative suggestions are welcome; the change is
still relatively easy to make (i.e., the new extension is not in wide
use).
