Notes:
Several documents are available for viewing and/or download from this page
in two forms:
- as .dvi files from TeX documents. Clicking on one of
these links in Netscape on the SW 219 lab machines
will read in and display these files via a ".dvi previewer" called
xdvi.
(You should see a screen image looking like the typeset page(s), in
a separate window.) This display is unfortunately not printable.
These files can be displayed on your computer only if you have a .dvi
previewer plugin for your web browser. Otherwise, clicking
on one of these links will initiate a download. Unless you have
a .dvi previewer and/or .dvi file printing software, those files
will not be especially useful.
- As TeX source files. On the SW 219 lab machines, you can generate
hardcopy output by clicking on one of the links marked
foo source. This will initiate a download of the TeX source
file to your directory, in the file you specify -- say you decide to call
it foo.tex also. After completing the
download, you can generate a printed copy in SW 219 by entering the following
commands from a Terminal Window:
- tex foo.tex
- dvips foo.dvi
The extension .tex on the filename in the tex command may be omitted
if you have named the file foo.tex. The .dvi extension
on the filename in the dvips command is also optional.
