      Attached is a copy of your first paper with comments.  
    Please look those over carefully and ask me to explain if what I said
    was not clear or if you don't understand what I was getting 
    at.  Most importantly, don't get too discouraged if the grade 
    here is lower than what you expected or what you are accustomed to.  
    Part of the goal of Montserrat is to help all HC students develop 
    as writers.  We have high standards, but we also know that the 
    only way to get more confident and fluent as a writer is to 
    practice.  From the assignment sheet for this paper, you will 
    recall that I will accept revised versions from everyone who 
    wishes to submit them.  The final grade on this paper assignment
    will be computed from the "Content" and "Form" grades on the 
    revised version if you submit one. You can submit revised versions 
    any time up until 5:00pm next Wednesday, September 28.  Let me know
