Mathematics 134 -- Intensive Calculus for Science 2
Quiz 2
February 1, 2006
The second regular quiz of the semester will be given during
the first 15 minutes of class on
Friday, February 3. It will cover the material from sections
6.1, 6.2, and 6.3 on the second problem set.
No calculators
for this quiz. The specific topics
to be covered will be:
- Sketching the graph of an antiderivative F(x) of f(x)
given the graph of f(x), given a value F(a) = b.
Know how to relate zeroes of f(x) to maxima/minima of
F(x), how to determine concavity of F(x), determine
values of F(x) via the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus,
and so on, (problems
like the ones from 6.1)
- Formulas for antiderivatives or indefinite integrals (problems
like the ones from 6.2)
- Solving differential equations dy/dx = f(x)
with an initial condition y(a) = b.
On the quiz, there will be three questions, one of each type as above.
