Quiz 9 -- Things to Know

The ninth quiz of the semester will be given during the first 20 minutes of class this coming Friday, April 20. It will be similar in format to the other quizzes and cover the following material:

Topics to Know

• Solving differential equations by separation of variables and integration. Be prepared to do a substitution on one or both integrals if necessary.
• Growth and decay problems -- converting a statement about the rate of change of a quantity into a differential equation, solving the equation, determining constants from given information, answering given questions.

Good Review Problems:

1. Problems like 10.4/1-21 by the separation of variables method
2. Problems like 10.5/2, 15, 17, 19 (growth and decay problems).
