Quiz 5 -- Things to Know

The fifth quiz of the semester will be given in class on Friday, February 23. Because we have taken a bit more time on section 8.2 than I expected when I planned this part of the course, the quiz will cover only the material from that section -- not the topics from section 8.4. In addition, the problems from section 8.4 will be moved to the problem set for the week after Spring Break.

Topics to Know

• Setting up integral formulas by subdivision, approximation, summation, and taking a limit to get an integral
• Density/total mass problems with linear or circular geometry
• Center of mass = moment/total mass
