Dear Heather, The MATH 110 course you have taken does count for the PBK mathematics requirement. The requirement that was not satisfied in your case was the Holy Cross PBK language requirement. The Holy Cross chapter voted a number of years ago (after the current Common Area language requirement was adopted) to change our requirements so that more than the minimum College language requirement would be needed for election to PBK (this is within the prerogatives of any local chapter). For seniors in the class of 2008, at least one semester of language at the intermediate level was required. Starting with the class of 2009 (as the web page now indicates), two semesters at the intermediate level will be required. The selection committee based its work on your official HC transcript, which did not give any indication of your previous Spanish courses because you were not given HC course credit for them. All we saw was the ASL 1 and 2 courses which are not by themselves sufficient.
