Getting in and Out of Maple

To run Maple on in the Haberlin 408 Lab you must be logged onto the college Novell network. Once you are logged on, double click on the Maple V Release 5 icon to bring up Maple. This will open a Maple worksheet in which you can enter Maple commands, receive Maple output responses, type in text or paste in graphics generated by Maple. There are five menus across the top of the worksheet window. We will be using the File menu, the Edit menu and the Help menu. The File menu includes commands to allow you to Open a previously stored worksheet, Save a worksheet, Print a worksheet and Exit Maple. The Edit menu includes commands to Cut, Copy and Paste in a worksheet, as well as to insert and delete regions of the worksheet. The Help menu includes the commands Help Browser and Keyword Search. You should regularly use these help options to investigate Maple commands and syntax.

To exit Maple, select Exit from the File menu.
