Homework should be turned in at the BEGINNING OF CLASS. All problem numbers refer to Single Variable Calculus, Concepts and Contexts 3rd ed., the required text for the course. You should write up solutions neatly to all problems, making sure to SHOW ALL YOUR WORK. A nonempty subset will be graded. You are strongly encouraged to work on these problems with other classmates, although the solutions you turn in should be YOUR OWN WORK.

Hint: In problem #22b, showing that y satisfies the differential equation means plugging y(x) into the left-hand side and right-hand side of the differential equation and getting the same thing. In other words, you will get two functions in x and they should be identical.

Hint: Does the integrand in problem #48 look like it has an "easy" antiderivative?

Hint: In problem #14, you will need to integrate by parts twice and solve for I = the original integral.
