Basic GNU/Linux Internals

GNU/Linux stores data and manages running programs (``processes'') in a logical way. To be a competent administrator (and an efficient user), you need to know a little about how the filesystem and process tree appear to a user. Any introductory book will explain how to move around the filesystem with commands, or how to determine what processes are currently running. This section merely explains what these terms mean.
