It's not elegant, but thicker lines and/or the scale option may do what
you want, e.g.

  pen(1.2);
  arrow(P(0,0), P(2,1), 0.5);

Are you looking for solid black arrowheads, or is colorability important?

Yes, though by now even the most recent version is pretty out of date.
(And it didn't address user syntax much:) The new version will have a
separate namespace, but I'm trying to design in a way that will permit
backward compatibility to be implemented fairly cleanly. In any case, the
fallback (and possibly the preferred method of backward compatibility...)
will be to install both the Old (Current) and New Version and use
namespaces.
